Between the Lens and the Work You Don’t See

Before I ever click the shutter, I’ve already pictured the moment, sometimes I’ve even heard it. The wind sweeping over a ridge, the hush of trees, a melody I imagine threading through the day. That rhythm shapes how I see you moving, how the light will land, how your laughter will drift into the air. Your story starts long before the camera comes out. I think about the trails we’ll take, the pauses that let you breathe it all in, the moments when the view will stop you. The adventure isn’t just the way to the location, it is part of the memory. The climb, the salt in the air, the stillness in a clearing, these are as much the story as the vows or the portrait.
What you won’t see are the quiet hours behind it all: late-night planning, location scouting, timing the light, sending ideas so you know exactly what to expect. Every step is designed to let you simply be there, fully in the moment. Whether it’s vows on a windswept summit or a soulful portrait of someone chasing a dream, my work is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about honoring what it felt like to be there with heart, honesty, and a whole lot of wild. Long after the moment has passed, I want you to hear it, feel it, and live it all over again, as if you never left.
